Special Educational Needs (SEN) Facility
Fairchildes PrimaryThis project comprised the construction of a large extension to provide additional teaching facilities.
The modular construction route was selected due the short programme available to complete the works.
Groundworks were commenced during term time and the building was installed. Due to the method of construction, both the external brickwork skin and internal fit out works could be carried out simultaneously.
At the start of the summer holidays, the internal alterations to the existing school buildings were undertaken along with the link to the new building.
The new facilities provided were:
- 2no classrooms
- 2no meeting rooms
- A reception office
- New toilet facilities
To the rear of the new building, a covered play area was created using cantilevered canopies to enable outdoor learning and playing facility.
