Special Educational Needs (SEN) Facility

Edenham High

To provide a new SEN facility for the School, the caretaker’s house was remodelled and extended.

The first floor of the house was completely refitted to provide a self-contained flat. At ground floor level, a large single storey extension was built using modular construction.

The foundations to the new extension were designed and constructed to accommodate a second storey should it be required for future expansion.

The new building was linked to the existing building with several structural alterations.

The new facilities provided the following accommodation:

  • 2 classrooms
  • New WC facilities
  • Staff room
  • Meeting room
  • Reception area

To the front of the building, major landscaping works including seating areas were carried out to provide a new entrance to both the SEN unit and main school building.

To the rear of the new building, a paved area was constructed with lawns linking to the existing school car park
